Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how SmokeLater, operated by Amir Sidhom ("we", "our", or "us"), handles information when you use the SmokeLater mobile application. Noti Family is the marketing name for the family of apps that includes SmokeLater; it is not a separate legal entity.

This policy is specific to SmokeLater. Other Noti Family apps, including NotiSignal and NotiBus, have their own legal pages.

These pages are public. You do not need an account, cookies, or the SmokeLater app to read this policy.

About SmokeLater

SmokeLater is a mobile app for adults who want to reduce smoking or nicotine consumption gradually. Its concept is: Delay. Reduce. Save.

SmokeLater is a tracking, delay, and reduction tool. It can help you log smoking events, increase the interval between events over time, review history and delay progress, estimate avoided smoking and money saved, set a savings goal, use a craving/delay challenge, play the "Beat the Wait" mini-game, use "Distract Me", and receive local reminders.

SmokeLater does not encourage smoking, tell you that it is "time to smoke", provide or sell tobacco or nicotine products, diagnose addiction, provide medical treatment, claim to cure nicotine dependence, or guarantee that you will reduce or stop smoking.

Information stored on your device

SmokeLater is currently local-first. There is no SmokeLater user account, no SmokeLater backend, and no cloud sync for your smoking records.

Core user-entered information — including smoking logs, delay history, smoking preferences, baseline usage, reduction settings, savings estimates, and savings goals — is stored locally on your device (including in an on-device database). Language preference is also stored locally on the device.

Because there is currently no SmokeLater account or cloud service, Noti Family does not receive those core records through a SmokeLater backend.

This does not mean that no information ever leaves the device. SmokeLater includes Google advertising services, described below. If you visit this website, the site host may also process ordinary technical request data (such as IP address and the page requested) in order to serve and secure the pages.

Advertising and third-party services

SmokeLater uses Google AdMob / the Google Mobile Ads SDK so that the free version of the app can display advertising.

Google and its advertising partners may process certain device, advertising, consent, and app interaction information as necessary to provide, measure, secure, and improve advertising services, subject to applicable law and the user's privacy choices.

We do not list every identifier or field that Google's advertising technologies may process, because that processing is determined by Google's services, configuration, region, and your privacy choices — not by a SmokeLater-operated data inventory.

Advertising information is handled separately from your core SmokeLater smoking logs. Noti Family does not use those local smoking records to sell advertising, and SmokeLater does not operate its own advertising profile about you.

On iOS, SmokeLater does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. This policy does not claim that SmokeLater tracks you across other companies' apps.

Consent and privacy choices

Where required by applicable law, SmokeLater uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy and consent choices related to advertising.

SmokeLater's current advertising architecture requests ads only after Google's consent layer reports that ads may be requested (canRequestAds is true). Advertising is not initialized or loaded until that condition is met.

Non-personalized advertising, where it is used, is an advertising request setting. It does not replace consent where consent is required.

Where Google's consent system indicates that a privacy options form is required, SmokeLater can present those choices in the app (for example from Settings). You may also have choices through your device settings and, where available, Google's ad settings.

Available ads, if any, depend on region, provider policies, fill, and your privacy choices. SmokeLater does not promise that ads will be personalized, non-personalized, available, or rewarded in every case.

Notifications

SmokeLater may use on-device notifications and reminders for delay targets and related app functionality. These are local device notifications. SmokeLater does not currently operate a SmokeLater push-notification backend for this purpose.

Notifications are optional. You can decline permission, turn reminders off in the app where that control is provided, or change notification settings in your device settings.

Data retention and deletion

Local SmokeLater records remain on your device until you change or remove them, or until they are removed with the app, as described below.

You can delete or correct individual smoking logs using in-app controls where provided (for example, removing a log from History). You can also change applicable settings, preferences, and savings information in the app.

Uninstalling SmokeLater generally removes locally stored app data, subject to operating-system backup and restore behavior (for example, if your device later restores an app backup).

We cannot promise deletion of information that Google or other independent advertising providers process on their own systems. Those providers handle retention and deletion under their own policies.

Children's privacy

SmokeLater is intended for adults. Because the subject matter concerns smoking and nicotine, the service is not intended for children or minors.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a SmokeLater account, because SmokeLater does not currently provide user accounts. If you believe a child is using the app, please contact us. You should also use your device's parental and app controls as appropriate.

International users

SmokeLater may be used in more than one country. Local app data is stored on your device. Google and its advertising partners may process advertising-related information in the locations where they operate, which may be outside your country of residence, subject to applicable law and your privacy choices.

Security

Because core SmokeLater records are stored on your device, their security also depends on your device lock, operating-system protections, and how you back up or share the device. We use reasonable measures in the app design, but no method of storage is completely secure.

Third-party advertising services apply their own security practices to information they process.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. The current version will be published at this URL.
